My travel writing
I'm a Vancouver-based travel writer. I have a second home near Oslo, Norway. I spend a great deal of time sleuthing around these regions with my camera and notebook. It follows that I'm an expert in Pacific Northwest travel and Scandinavian travel. I am also an international street food pilgrim. As a mum on the move, I'm particularly interested in creative family travel. You won't find us at Disney World.
Travel copywriting and travel blogging are two of my specialties. My work appears in travel guide books and on tourism sites including DK Eyewitness travel guides, Tourism Vancouver's blog InsideVancouver.ca, GuestLife Vancouver City Guide and more.
I pen thoughtful narrative travel features for magazines. See In Print for clips.

More about me
I've lived all over the world. Like all veteran travelers, I want to keep seeing new places and trying new things. Now I have more people in my life: my husband, Morten Jerven, a fellow traveler, our one-year-old kiddo, Robin, and another newbie, William, on the way in 2013. I explore the world with my family. More on that here.
I am a food trend sleuth. I track trends globally. From the new Scandinavian cuisine to ramen burger mania, I'm in the middle of the action. With utensils.
I have a thing for profiling designers including Jason Wu, Erdem, Rachel Zoe, Brian Atwood, Nicola Formichetti, Sebastian Peigne, Lapo Elkann, Tom Mora, Nicole Bridger, Anna Kosturova and more.
I speak Norglish - a combination of Norwegian and English.
I blog 20 times per month.
I like my family. Licorice. Sunday morning. Pintxos. Champagne cocktails. Costumes. Road trip soundtracks. Train travel. Hiking. Boots. Hiking boots.
I don’t like holes in my socks. Library fines. Baby food + airport security. Cyclists on the sidewalk. Mayonnaise. Waiting for travel visas.
